Forever Chairman

TRIBUTE to the SDF National Chairman, HE. Ni JOHN FRU NDI.

I knew him in the late sixties as the Founder and Propietor of the EBIBI BOOK Centre, Mankon Commercial Avenue, Bamenda. This Book Centre was unbeatable. It had Branches / Annexes all over.

In the mid seventies, the then Ministry of National Education granted an English Primary School to the English Speaking Community resident in Nkongsamba. The School needed books , didactic materials and stationery for the school to open its doors to the anxious pupils who had been yearning for such a golden opportunity.
Ebibi Book Centre was the answer. Part of my home in Nkongsamba housed the Ebibi Book Center Annex and served the School so well that the objective was attained. We equally had an opportunity to serve the Bamenda Urban Council as Municipal Councillors on the C.P.D.M. Party ticket, after which things changed.
In 1992 when I was appointed as the Government Delegate to the Bamenda Urban Council, Mr. Ni John Fru Ndi was already National Chairman of the SDF Party. Both of us were worshipping in PC Musang Congregation and in 2000, Ni John Fru Ndi, Mr. S.P. Lonla, Sanjou-Tadzong Abel Ndeh, Nyam Charles and a host of others, were dedicated in Musang P.C. as members of the CMF of the PCC. We had over the years neutered and maintained long lasting friendship ties which permitted us, though coming from different political ideologies, the SDF and the CPDM, we sank most of our differences, worked relentlessly and objectively for the good and wellbeing of the people of Bamenda. In brief, there was frank and honest collaboration for the development and growth of Bamenda, for which I
profoundly thank the SDF National Chair for the peace, order and prosperity Bamenda witnessed. Thank you profusely.

Finally, pay glowing tribute to Ni John Fru Ndi for being such a selfless, committed and courageous midwife, who spared no ounce of his blood or energy in the maternity to ensure the safe delivery of the so long awaited pregnancy .Behold, an old, strong, healthy bouncing baby came and was christened DEMOCRACY. History will remember Ni John Fru Ndi for this pearl!

As you journey home to your Creator, we pray to the Almighty God that in His infinite love and mercy be gracious to you and award you eternal rest.
Mr. National CHAIR R.I.P.

Sanjou-Tadzong Abel Ndeh.
